This division focuses on mariculture carrying capacity, healthy mariculture technique and mode, theory and techniques for seedling production, pharmacology of aquatic species and standardization of mariculture technology, ect.

Supported by international, national and provincial research funding, we have established ecosystem-based mariculture mode and technique for Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA), and the leading technique for ecological culture of jellyfish, breeding of golden cuttlefish and spotted halibut. We have completed epidemiological investigation and pathological research on several kinds of sea economic animals, and established the comprehensive disease prevention and control system for mariculture. We have obtained several superior varieties of Kelp and sea cucumber. We have made more than 30 national and industrial standards. Application of these techniques and achievements has brought out significant economic, social and ecological benefits.
